I've skied north and south shores at Lake Tahoe for 20 years and Alpine Meadows is still my favorite place to ski. It's not a huge resort, but offers all levels of runs and has a great feel to it. You can hang with the crowds or ski through the trees. Best, however, when the weather stays cold, otherwise the sunny slopes are pretty crunchy. The best Tahoe resort for the money.
